CSL Plasma Second Donation: Why It Matters for Your Referral Bonus

Updated · Written by an active CSL Plasma donor

Already finished your first CSL Plasma donation? Visit two is where a lot of referral value is won or lost. This page covers the 2-donation / 30-day rule, what gets faster on return visits, how to confirm referral code Q6MT7GL0XU is still applied, and when the referrer’s reward (then Emiliano’s $50) typically moves.

Important: Referral terms, pay, and center procedures change. Confirm timing and status in the CSL Plasma app and with your local center.

2-donation / 30-day rule

Per CSL Plasma’s published referral terms, a referred new donor must complete two (2) successful donations within thirty (30) days of their first donation for the referral to qualify. One completed visit is not enough for the referrer reward—even if screening went fine and you got paid for donation one.

Also keep the 7-day coupling in mind (if you have not applied a code yet):

  • If you donated first → apply the referral code in the app within 7 days of that first donation
  • If you applied the code first → complete your first donation within 7 days of applying it

Other soft requirements that still apply on the path to visit two:

  • You must be a true new donor (no prior donation history at any CSL Plasma center)
  • Keep an active iGive Rewards® account (activation needs your donor number from the center)

Plan early: temporary deferrals (illness, low protein/hematocrit, vitals) can eat calendar days. If you’re near the end of the 30-day window, call the center before you assume you can squeeze visit two in. Respect FDA frequency limits (commonly no more than twice in seven days, with required rest between donations)—ask staff if you’re unsure about the soonest safe return date.

CSL also notes publicly that your first donation isn’t fully usable for patients until a second donation is complete under their quality standards—so visit two matters for the plasma supply story and for referral qualification.

What changes on visit two (faster)

CSL’s public guidance says the first visit often takes about 2–2.5 hours. Later visits are often closer to about 90 minutes, though waits and collection time still vary by center and day.

Why return visits are usually shorter:

  • Your registration and identity file already exist
  • The new-donor physical was typically done on visit one
  • Staff already have your baseline history—day-of screening still happens, but the “new donor onboarding” block is largely behind you

Ways many return donors save time:

  • Complete the Self-Administered Health History (SAHH) in the CSL Plasma app on the day of donation, get a CSL Pass QR code, and head toward screening (once you have a center donor record)
  • Bring the same ID habits that worked on visit one; if staff ask for updated address proof after a move, have it ready—see what to bring
  • Eat, hydrate, and avoid day-of issues that commonly cause temporary deferrals (feeling sick, very high blood pressure readings, etc.)

First-visit refreshers if you need them: first-time guide and what to bring.

Confirm code still applied

Before (or right after) visit two, open the CSL Plasma app and check the Referrals / referral dashboard area:

  1. Confirm code Q6MT7GL0XU shows as applied to your account
  2. Confirm iGive Rewards® is activated (not stuck in a pre-donor state)
  3. Note any status messages about pending donations or qualification

If the code is missing and you are still inside the 7-day window relative to donation one, apply it immediately. If the window already closed, the CSL referral may not qualify—even if you finish donation two on time. Troubleshooting tied to iGive and code entry: iGive Rewards and referral code guide.

Do not assume “I meant to use a code” counts—CSL’s terms require the code to be applied through authorized app channels inside the timing rules.

When the referrer gets paid → when $50 is sent

CSL referrer reward (typical flow):

  1. You complete two successful donations within 30 days of donation one (and meet the other referee rules above)
  2. CSL issues the referral reward to the referring donor as iGive Rewards® points only after the referee meets all program requirements
  3. Amounts are promotional—CSL has commonly marketed about $100 per qualifying referral on return-donor pages during dated promo windows; always verify the current offer in the app (values and dates change)
  4. Points may be transferable to the referrer’s CSL prepaid debit card under CSL’s redemption rules; loading timing is often described in FAQ language as roughly 24–48 business hours after redemption—confirm in-app

Emiliano’s $50 cash-back (separate from CSL):

  1. CSL’s referral must fully qualify first (the referrer’s reward path is the signal)
  2. After that qualification is clear, Emiliano sends $50 to you (the new donor) via Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, or Apple Pay
  3. Claim / contact details live on plasmareferralcode.com and the referral code page

Your normal donation fees for visits one and two are separate from both the CSL referrer reward and Emiliano’s $50. New-donor promotions (when available) are also a separate center compensation track—see new donor bonus if you are still in your first month.

Bottom line: finish a successful visit two inside 30 days, keep iGive on, and keep code Q6MT7GL0XU applied. That’s the cleanest path for the CSL referral to clear—and for the extra $50 to follow.
